Celebrating National Independent Bookstore Day with Curiosity & Co.!

Since it’s such a pleasure to be associated with the creative folks at Curiosity & Co., I am doubly pleased to announce that they’re throwing a party this weekend.

Below is a breakdown of the store’s programs for the rest of Independent Bookstore Week, starting with a screening of To Kill a Mockingbird at 5:30 PM today, 14 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI.

I’ll be attending the Flight Club: Kiss the Book event with other local authors from 6 to 8 pm tomorrow, so, I hope to see you there.

In honor of National Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 30th, we are launching Independent Bookstore Week, a dynamic slate of programming including live storytelling, a legendary film screening, wine enjoyed with local authors & author signing events. Programs Thursday-Saturday:
Thursday 5:30 PM Reel Ones:
Screening of “To Kill a Mockingbird: In honor of Harper Lee’s birthday, Curiosity & Co. will host a screening of 1962’s To Kill a Mockingbird with a pre-screening discussion of Lee’s life and influence on literature.

Friday 5:30 PM Flight Club:
Kiss the Book: A four-wine flight social gathering celebrating local authors and the beauty of epic literary experiences. Open to all lovers of books, wine, and vinyl albums.

Saturday 10AM – 8PM Independent Bookstore Jubilee:
Celebrating the Independent Spirit :A day long celebration of National Book Store Day featuring a day time talk and book signing by author and cartoonist Will Henry at 10:30AM. And an exciting evening at 6PM for writers aged 14-18. This “Very Interested Person” immersive experience with acclaimed author Tochi Onyebuchi, includes insights on the path to being a published author and hands-on workshop activities designed to open eyes and sharpen skills. Available to 15 young writers
